Preliminary Study Leisure and Tourism Area Mörlialp

The tourism and leisure area Mörlialp is a small but beautiful ski resort in the canton of Obwalden. In winter, many families and winter sports enthusiasts from the region enjoy the local leisure offers. The snow uncertainty and the change in climatic conditions, as well as the high investment requirements, complicate the business of mountain railways.

gutundgut was commissioned by the municipality of Giswil for future strategic development. The economic situation, the spatial conditions and the current marketing of the Mörlialp were analyzed. The aim was to create a strategic basis for the development of a sustainable and near-natural summer offer. In a second stage, gutundgut provided impulses to develop and evaluate implementation ideas together with the local council and numerous participants in a potential workshop.
