The Destination Lab is a network and platform for Swiss tourism destinations to increase innovation, exchange experiences and manage knowledge. The core areas are guest information and the development of new products and offers in the destinations. The Destination Lab contributes to the systematic transfer of knowledge among the destinations, the multiplication of best practice examples and the exchange of experiences. To date, 45 tourism destinations and three universities act as project partners.
The transition from theory into practice is made possible with a series of innovative tools and events. The participating destinations shape the Destination Lab and develop it further in a targeted manner. Twice a year, 2-day meetings are organized in one of the member destinations. The program includes exciting workshops, lectures and product presentations according to the wishes of the members, but also allows time for informal discussions.
In addition, the Destination Lab organizes an exchange program for its partners. Especially the change to a larger or smaller destination or from a mountain to a city destination can be very profitable.
As a result, the members implement pilot projects in which at least three destinations work together. With this vessel, dormant ideas can finally be implemented, since risk and financing are shared and, ideas and competencies are mutually utilized.
